Since 2014, philanthropist Tom Steyer's NextGen America (formerly NextGen Climate) has worked to prevent climate change by advancing the transition to a clean energy economy. During the 2014 election cycle I worked with NextGen's digital agency, Blue State Digital, to art direct a series of highly effective social media campaigns aimed at halting the Keystone XL pipeline, and supporting political candidates who are committed to taking action on climate change.
• As art director, I worked closely with BSD's creative directors and political scientists to produce an ongoing series of social media campaigns for selected demographics and
• Campaign themes included "People in the Path", "Say NO to Keystone XL", and "We Love Our Land".
• As a result of these campaigns, we helped register more than a million voters nationwide – helping our selected candidates win more than 64% of the elections we had targeted.
• Simple, powerful imagery and clear calls-to-action made it easy for voters to understand the issues, and take immediate action.
